Restaurant feedback incentives

How to reward restaurant feedback without buying positive reviews.

A useful incentive rewards participation—not praise. The reward must be identical whether a guest loved the dish, disliked it, or landed somewhere in between.

Five rules for a trustworthy program

  1. Reward honest completion, never a minimum score or positive wording.
  2. Clearly disclose the reward beside every public rewarded review.
  3. Keep rewarded scores separate so organic community sentiment remains legible.
  4. Never connect the reward to a Google, Yelp, Tripadvisor, Facebook, or other external review.
  5. Give restaurants flagging and response channels—not editorial control over customer opinions.

What MenuScouter requires

Rewards requires an authenticated guest, a score, at least 20 characters of commentary, and a real food photo. The reward is added automatically to the guest’s MenuScouter account before the restaurant sees the review.

Why the reward is a return-visit tool

The owner funds a limited, expiring reward. It cannot be redeemed on the day of the review. Starting the next calendar day, approved staff can scan its single-use token; MenuScouter then marks it redeemed in the guest’s account. This measures whether customer content led to another visit without a POS integration.
